Case Study: Robertson Fuel Systems, LLC
Robertson Fuels Systems is a leader in the manufacture of crashworthy fuel systems for the military. Played a lead material science role in concept development, prototype development and scale-up of a novel survivable fuel system for ground-based military vehicles. The product is an elastomeric composite that is designed to absorb blasts from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and to self-seal if penetrated. Defined and developed the appropriate materials for the fuel system in conjunction with the client. Participated extensively on the development team to design a new process to manufacture the above product. Provided an Intellectual Property (IP) assessment to develop a comprehensive IP strategy for the technologies, including the assessment of multiple article, composition of matter and process inventions. Currently providing ongoing material science technical support.
